UHP graphite electrode for carbon fiber production
UHP (Ultra High Power) graphite electrodes can also be used in carbon fiber production. In this process, UHP graphite electrodes are used to heat and melt polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers, which are then carbonized to produce carbon fibers. UHP graphite electrodes are preferred for this application because they can provide the high temperatures necessary for the carbonization process and are highly resistant to oxidation, ensuring a longer service life.
