Applications
Electric arc furnaces (EAFs): UHP graphite electrodes are commonly used in EAFs for steelmaking. They are used to provide the high temperature required to melt and refine steel scrap.
Ladle furnaces (LFs): UHP graphite electrodes can also be used in LFs, which are used to refine and adjust the chemistry of the steel after it has been melted in the EAF.
Steel refining: UHP graphite electrodes are used for refining the steel and adjusting its chemical composition, as well as for removing impurities like sulfur, phosphorus, and nitrogen.
Steel alloy production: UHP graphite electrodes can also be used in the production of steel alloys, such as stainless steel, by adding various alloying elements like chromium, nickel, and molybdenum.
