Applications
Electric arc furnaces (EAFs): Generally speaking,graphite electrodes are used in EAFs during the proess of nickel smelting. EAFs main function as below, melt the nickel ore, as well as other materials,for instance, iron ore and coke or coal. They are used to produce an electric arc between electrodes and raw materials, which yield heat and melts the materials.
AOD converters: Graphite electrodes are used in argon oxygen decarburization (AOD) converters,too, which can be see in nickel refining area. AOD converters use a combination of argon gas and oxygen to eliminate impurities from nickel and ameliorate its quality,meanwhile,they can provide the electric current that needed for the process.
