Graphite Electrode Production Process
Applications
Electric arc furnaces: They are used in electric arc furnaces to produce phosphorus through reacting phosphate rock with carbon in electric arc. The electric arc furnace use graphite electrodes to produce heat and melt the mixture of phosphate rock and carbon and enhance the chemical reaction.
Refining the phosphorus: After reaction between phosphate rock and carbon, the mixture matter need to be refined to clear up impurities and up to the desired purity of phosphorus.They are used to adjust the temperature and chemistry of the molten phosphorus to boost the refining process.
