Graphite Electrode Production Process
Applications
Electric arc furnaces: They are used in electric arc furnaces to produce magnesium through reacting magnesium oxide with carbon in electric arc. The electric arc furnace use them to produce heat and melt the mixture of magnesium oxide and carbon and help the chemical reaction.
Refining the magnesium: After magnesium oxide and carbon reaction occurred, their mixture matter need to be refined to clean impurities and up to the sound purity of magnesium. Graphite They are used to adjust temperature and chemistry of molten magnesium to enhance refining procedure.
Casting furnace: They are used in the casting furnace, too, where the refined magnesium is cast into ingots. The casting furnace use them to produce heat, which melt the refined magnesium and convert it into ingots
