Applications
Steel making: Graphite electrodes are often used in electric arc furnaces (EAFs) to produce steel from scrap metal. The electrodes are used to create an electric arc that melts the scrap, allowing impurities to be burned off and alloys to be increased.
Ferrosilicon production: Ferrosilicon is an alloy of iron and silicon that is used in steel making and other industrial fields.They are used to produce the high temperature required to produce ferrosilicon in submerged arc furnace.
Ferromanganese production: Ferromanganese is an alloy of iron and manganese that is used in steel making and other industrial applications. They are used in submerged arc furnace to yield the high temperature required to produce ferromanganese.
Ferrochrome production: Ferrochrome is an alloy of iron, chromium, and carbon that is used in stainless steel production. They are used in submerged arc furnaces to generate the high temperatures required to produce ferrochrome.
Ferrotitanium production: Ferrotitanium is an alloy of iron and titanium that is used in the aerospace, automotive, and chemical industries. Graphite electrodes are used in electric arc furnaces to produce ferrotitanium by melting titanium scrap and iron.
