According to the China Trade Remedies Information Network, on March 17, 2026, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced the initiation of anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations into large-diameter graphite electrodes imported from China and India.
This move follows a petition filed by the U.S. industry group, the LDGE Fair Trade Coalition, along with its member companies, Resonac Graphite America Inc. and Tokai Carbon GE LLC.

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) is expected to make its preliminary injury determination by April 10, 2026, at the latest. According to U.S. statistics, in 2025, the value of large-diameter graphite electrode imports from China and India was approximately $6.93 million and $2.25 million, respectively.
