Graphite Electrodes For Rare Earth Metals Production
Products Description
Graphite electrodes are widely used in the production of rare earth metals. The rare earth metals are extracted using a process called electrolysis, in which a graphite electrode is used as the anode. During the electrolysis process, the rare earth metals are deposited on the cathode while oxygen is released at the anode (graphite electrode). Graphite electrodes are preferred for this process due to their high electrical conductivity, low electrical resistance, and excellent resistance to thermal shock and chemical corrosion. Additionally, graphite electrodes can withstand high temperatures and are highly durable, making them suitable for use in harsh and demanding environments.

Production process of UHP Graphite electrode

Applications:
Melting and refining rare earth metals: Graphite electrodes are used in electric arc furnaces to melt and refine rare earth metals like neodymium, cerium, and lanthanum.
Alloying rare earth metals: Graphite electrodes are used in alloying rare earth metals with other metals like iron, nickel, and cobalt to produce high-strength magnets, high-temperature superconductors, and other advanced materials.
Recycling rare earth metals: Graphite electrodes are used in the recycling of rare earth metals from scrap materials. They are used to melt and purify the scrap materials to recover the rare earth metals for reuse.
Production of rare earth metals powder: Graphite electrodes are also used in the production of rare earth metals powder. They are used to melt and atomize the metals, which are then cooled rapidly to form fine powder for use in a variety of applications.

Packing and Shipping
Finished Graphite Electrodes are packed according to customers' requirements, shipped via containers or trucks, and provided with perfect after-sales service.
