Application
Anode production: Calcined petroleum coke is a key component in the production of anodes used in aluminum electrolysis cells. It provides the carbon necessary for the anode to conduct electricity and react with the alumina in the electrolyte.
Carbon electrode production: Calcined petroleum coke is also used in the production of carbon electrodes for aluminum smelting. The electrodes are used to conduct electrical current through the electrolytic cell, which reduces alumina to aluminum metal.
