Chinese Researching Group Have A Breakthrough in UHP Graphite Products

A Chinese research team from Minmetals Corporation has developed a core technology for the high-temperature purification of graphite. The result for purity graphite products can exceed 99.99995 percent, which indicates China's ultra-high purity graphite products have reached the international leading level. Technologically, ultra-high purity graphite refers to graphite with a carbon content of over 99.99 percent, so it is equipped with features of excellent conductivity, corrosion resistance, extreme temperature resistance and great chemical stability, etc.

 

Since the introduction of the team leader, they have been working with the leading equipment manufacturing institutions and exploring one continuous graphite purification processes and equipment. To achieve this stepwise purification process, they are going through a combination of physical and chemical purification, high-temperature and low temperature continuous purification, and ultra-high vacuum purification. By treating those processes, the graphite purity is from 95 to over 99.99995 percent and the product quality is kept stable.
