1. Preparation before connecting the graphite electrode: 1. Remove the protective cover of the new electrode hole and check whether the internal thread of the electrode hole is complete. If the thread is incomplete, contact the after-sales service technician, who will determine whether the electrode can be used; check whether the hole is clean. If not, clean it before use. 2. Screw one end of the electrode expander into the electrode hole and place a pad under the other end of the electrode to avoid damaging the electrode joint. 3. First use compressed air to blow away the dust and debris on the surface and hole of the electrode to be connected, and then blow away the dust and debris on the surface and joint of the new electrode; if the compressed air cannot blow the electrode surface clean, clean it with a brush.

2. Transportation and storage of graphite electrodes: 1. When lifting or transporting the electrode, be careful to prevent the electrode from sliding and being damaged due to tilting. 2. In order to ensure that the electrode end face and the electrode thread are good, please do not directly hook the holes at both ends of the electrode with an iron hook to lift the electrode. 3. When loading and unloading the joint box, be gentle to prevent the joint from bumping and causing thread damage. 4. Please do not pile electrodes and joints directly on the ground, but place them on wooden squares or iron racks to prevent the electrodes from being damaged or sticking to the soil. For electrodes and joints that are not used temporarily, do not remove the packaging to prevent dust and debris from falling on the threads or in the electrode holes. 5. The welding rods should be stored neatly in the warehouse, and the two sides of the welding rod stack should be padded to prevent slipping. The stacking height of the electrodes is generally not more than 2m. 6. The stored welding rods should be protected from rain and moisture. Wet electrodes should be dried before use to avoid cracks and increased oxidation during steelmaking. 7. Keep the electrode connector away from high temperatures to prevent the connector plug from melting due to high temperatures.

III. Classification of graphite electrodes: 1. Ordinary electric furnaces such as steelmaking, silicon smelting, and yellow phosphorus smelting allow the use of graphite electrodes with a current density of less than 17A/cm2. 2. Anti-oxidation coated graphite electrodes, the surface of which is coated with an anti-oxidation protective layer (graphite electrode antioxidant). Forming a conductive and high-temperature oxidation-resistant protective layer, reducing the electrode consumption of polystar carbon graphite electrodes during steelmaking (19%~50%), extending the electrode service life (22%~60%), and reducing the electrode power consumption. The promotion and application of this technology can bring such economic and social effects: (1) The unit consumption of graphite electrodes is low, which reduces the production cost to a certain extent. (2) Graphite electrodes consume less electricity, saving unit steelmaking electricity consumption, saving production costs, and saving energy. (3) Since the number of graphite electrode replacements is small, the operator's labor and risk factor are reduced, and production efficiency is improved. (4) Graphite electrodes are low-consumption and low-pollution products, which have very important social significance today when energy conservation, emission reduction and environmental protection are advocated. 3. High-power electric arc furnaces for steelmaking allow the use of graphite electrodes with a current density of 18~25A/cm2. 4. Ultra-high power graphite electrodes allow the use of graphite electrodes with a current density greater than 25A/cm2. Mainly used in ultra-high power steelmaking electric arc furnaces.

IV. Packaging of graphite electrodes: 1. 1. Separately pack and package the electrodes and connectors for shipment. 2. Connection method: One end of the electrode is equipped with a connector, and then packed and shipped. The main function of packaging: protect the electrode from damage during storage and transportation, especially the thread.
