1.Used for electric arc steelmaking furnaces; Graphite electrodes are mainly used for electric furnace steelmaking. Electric furnace steelmaking uses graphite electrodes to introduce current into the furnace, and a strong current is generated at the lower end of the electrode through gas to produce arc discharge. The heat generated by the arc is used for smelting. According to the capacity of the electric furnace, graphite electrodes with different diameters are used. In order to ensure continuous use of the electrodes, they are connected by electrode threaded joints. Graphite electrodes used in steelmaking account for about 70-80% of the total amount of graphite electrodes used.
2. Used for mineral thermal electric furnaces; Graphite electrode mineral thermal electric furnace is mainly used for the production of ferroalloys, pure silicon, yellow phosphorus, matte copper, and calcium carbide. Its characteristic is that the lower part of the conductive electrode is buried in the furnace material. Therefore, in addition to the heat generated by the arc between the electrode and the furnace material, the resistance of the furnace material also generates heat when the current passes through the furnace material. Each ton of silicon requires about 150kg of graphite electrode, and each ton of yellow phosphorus requires about 40kg of graphite electrode.
3. Used for resistance furnaces; The graphitization furnace used for graphite material products in the production process, the melting furnace for glass melting technology, and the electric furnace used for silicon carbide production are all resistance furnaces. The material management inside the furnace is not only a heating resistor, but also the object being heated.
4. A large amount of graphite electrode blanks are also used for processing into various shaped products such as crucibles, graphite boats, hot press molds, and vacuum electric furnace heating elements.
